Reddish Egret, known for its energetic and distinctive hunting dance, is commonly found in the shallow coastal waters and tidal flats of Sanibel, Florida, where it forages for small fish by performing quick, erratic movements to stir up prey. Their range includes the Gulf Coast of the United States (especially in Texas and Florida), the Caribbean, Mexico, and parts of Central America. They are considered one of the rarer herons in North America.
